Congratulations! You're moving! There are so many things to remember. A little preplanning can make your actual moving day and first night at your new home so much more comfortable. These handy checklists will help keep you organized and your stress level as low as possible.

The two most important things to pack separately from your household goods, furniture, and belongings, are an overnight bag and an "open first" box. Make sure that the overnight bag and the most important box go into your car - not in the moving truck, UHaul, or POD.

Overnight bag:

• Sleepwear and Clothes for the next day

Toothbrush / Toothpaste / Toiletries Soap

 Toilet Paper

 Medication (people and pet)

 Phone/Laptop Charger

 Important Documents

 Cash/Valuables

 Pet food / Leash Snacks

Open First Box:

 Lightbulbs

 Cleaning supplies and Paper Towels

 Coffee/Tea, Sugar, Quick Meals

 Kettle and Mugs/cups

 Basic Tools

A few toys for Kids and/or Pets

 Bath Towels

On your moving out day, there are some additional things to remember. Use this checklist to minimize moving day headaches:

• Plan to be home when movers arrive

• Protect floors and carpets

• Put pets in a safe place

• Be sure all boxes are labeled accurately

• Do a final clean & dispose of any trash

• Take a final walk-through

• Leave owner manuals & household receipts

• Leave labeled keys, garage door fobs and amenity passes

• Lock doors, windows and turn off all lights
