Why you'd want to live in Topsail Beach
Topsail Beach is one of 3 communities comprising what most people know as "Topsail Island." The other 2 communities are Surf City, North Carolina and North Topsail Beach. Topsail Island is 26 miles in length and ranges from 500 to 1500 feet in width. Not surprisingly, "North Topsail" is dubbed so because of its northernmost position. The largest of the 3 communities, Surf City, occupies the middle part of the island, while "Topsail Beach" is the smallest of the 3 towns, and lies on the southern end of the island. Before World War II, there was no access to Topsail Island except by boat; however, during the war, the US Navy took interest in the island. Over time, a bridge was constructed and other improvements were made, allowing locals and visitors alike vehicle access. Eventually, the town of Topsail Beach was incorporated in 1963. Since that time, it has maintained its beautiful white, sandy beaches and a family friendly, relaxed lifestyle rarely found elsewhere. via Homes for Sale in Topsail Beach
