Being a homeowner is about much more than the walls that are around you. An experienced real estate agent understands all aspects of purchasing a home, from finding the neighborhood that best fits your lifestyle, to the financial intricacies of negotiation and closing.
If you are a buyer considering new construction for your next home, working with a real estate agent will ensure that you have a professional who is looking out for your interests. Although it is easy to walk into a model home and work directly with a builder, buyers often find that it is both confusing and frustrating to navigate the process on their own.
Here are some of the advantages of working with a real estate agent when you are buying new construction:
1. No Additional Cost
Working with a buyer's agent does not cost a prospective homeowner any additional fees, and does not increase the price of a new construction home. Buyer's agents are paid at closing by the builder/developer. Most real estate agents hav ...

Hi, my name is Ashley Dance. I'm with KBT Realty Group of Keller Williams Innovate in Wilmington, North Carolina. I have been in real estate for about five years now in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties. There are occasions that I do go into Bladen County or Onslow County. It really just depends on the home and what my client is looking for.
So I am originally from Charlotte, born and raised. I lived right on the outskirts most of my life. My background is in purchasing. I've done purchasing for both stainless steel and for fabric all over the world. And I decided that - I had a little back surgery - and I decided that it was time to make a change in my life. I have family here in the Wilmington area and I thought well you're close to the coast so why not make a big change in my life?
So I packed up the house, sold it and came here. No job, no place to live as a matter of fact. And I found a quick apartment in about 3 hours and went back to Charlotte, packed everythi ...

Rick Binford, Broker/Realtor, shares what he loves about the four bedroom single family home nestled in the shady pines in the Reserve neighborhood at St. James Plantation.
What is unique about this property?
Fenwick Lane is the perfect quiet location within the coveted "Reserve" section of St. James. This home is nestled privately among the pines and there is little traffic. It is also just a short stroll from the beautiful Reserve Clubhouse and overlooking the 18th green. The community firepit at the Reserve Club overlooks the 18th green, and will become your favorite way to enjoy the beautiful Carolina sunsets!
And of course, imagine enjoying a glass of wine relaxing around your own glowing firepit on this home's lovely circular rear patio, too.
Which room do you love the most and what is special about it?
My favorite space is the large vaulted ceiling great room with the cozy fireplace. The spacious open plan design - with dining, lounging, and kitchen ar ...

Hey, I'm Nancy Schappell with KBT Realty Group. Just wanted to introduce myself and give you a little hint about the Wilmington area.
I've moved here recently, but I've been a Realtor for over 16 years. Love this area, and I love the master plan communities. I live in one, it's Brunswick Forest.
So here's what I love about Wilmington. First of all, I come from Pennsylvania, and we really just got tired of the winters. And so we started to make a plan as to where we were going to spend the next chapter of our lives. And we started south and worked our way up. And when we hit Wilmington, we felt like we found home. It wasn't a huge city. It was a city that just spoke to us. We loved the fact that it was on the water. We love the fact that it's 15 minutes, ten minutes to the beach. We loved all of the things that it offered. Good food, good culture, close to water. It was just the perfect place for us.
Funny story. I ran my husband's chiropractic practice for a really long time ...
