Castle Hayne and Wrightsboro, North CarolinaHey, guys, it's Fred Teachey with KBT Realty doing another segment of "Where We Sell."
So today we're going to talk about the Castle Hayne/Wrightsboro area of New Hanover County. Castle Hayne and Wrightsboro - this little area - was like one of the last undeveloped areas. There's older neighborhoods in here, but the newer developments haven't really come in here until the last probably about the last ten years when it's really started, when they got some infrastructure over here as far as water and sewer and what have you.
So we've seen a lot of development coming in over here. The cool thing about the Castle Hayne Wrightsboro area, it is in the northern-northwest part of the county. The location here is fantastic, especially with the bypass that's opened up. You can get to Porters Neck in ten minutes. You can be to downtown Wilmington in five to ten minutes. You can jump on I 40 very easy. The airport is right around the corner. So it's a very good location for somebody that just does a lot of traveling.
River Bluffs in Castle Hayne NC
So now we're seeing a bunch of developments coming out here. And today we are standing here on the docks of my favorite subdivision in all of eastern North Carolina, River Bluffs. This is a fantastic community right here on the Northeast Cape Fear River. As you can see, we got plenty of dockage. We've got boat slips - they've got boat slips for rent. They've got boat slips for sale. They've got a river walk that goes all the way past those homes you see over there. They've been very eco friendly. They've kept up the trees. They didn't clear cut. They work around the trees. They've got great amenities, huge pool, and they are building a new pool. They've got a fitness center. They've got a country general store in here. They've even got a community farm. This is just a fantastic community and absolutely my favorite community of all the communities out here.
More Communities in Castle Hayne and Wrightsboro
But Castle Hayne/Wrightsboro has still got some other great communities that have popped up.
You've got Hanover Lakes, which is one of my favorites. It's a Bill Clark community. Fantastic community, sitting around a couple of lakes there. Again, from there, you're five minutes from downtown Wilmington.
You've got Preservation Point, which is a new subdivision on the river there. We've got some other price point neighborhoods such as Windy Woods, Riverside, Parsons Mill. So there's all these other developments that are popping up that give you a different variety in the Castle Hayne/Wrightsboro area.
As far as price point in this Castle Hayne/Wrightsboro corridor, there's all different types of levels. Again, there are some price point communities starting out in the high twos, low threes, that are more geared towards the family first-time home buyers. You've got some other communities like Hanover Lakes. They're sitting in that $400-600,000 price range.
And then you've got River Bluffs here, which the price range is all over the place because they do have waterfront property. They are going anywhere from starting out in the $400s up to a million plus.
So again there's a wide range for anybody, whether it's the family, whether it is retirees, whether it's first time home buyers. There's a wide range here for people to choose from.
Find Your Home Along the Cape Fear River
So again, going back to River Bluff community, it does have a boat ramp that you can access the Northeast Cape Fear River and again from here - both by boat or car - you can be to downtown Wilmington in about ten minutes which is very cool. And the Northeast Cape Fear is just a beautiful scenic river. Not a whole lot of development on there. Again like so many in Wilmington, it is a tidal river, so the tide does change here just like on the Intracoastal Waterway. But it is one of the few communities that will give you boating access.
