November 2022 Around the Azalea Coast | Season of Thanks | Save Money When Moving | What's Up at KBT
Updates and Happenings from beautiful Southeastern Coastal North Carolina.
"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others."
- Marcus Tullius Cicero
What's Up | where to give back this Thanksgiving seasonDuring this season of being thankful for what we have, everyone at KBT is also appreciative of the many opportunities we have to give back to our community. Here are some nonprofit organizations where we spend our time, and some wonderful options for you to consider volunteering your time, too.
Foster a service dog in training for the weekend or offer your business for a training outing. Canines for Service is a Wilmington-based organization that trains and provides service dogs to veterans with service-connected mobility challenges, PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other needs. Canines can always use dog walkers, event volunteers, and, of course, donations. Call Kinsey to inquire about helping out at 910.360.9166. - Kirk Pugh, Broker/Realtor® and Canines for Service board member
Don't forget about the good men and women that serve your community on the holidays. Taking the kids over to your local fire house and dropping in to say "thank you" while bringing a plate of treats are always appreciated. In my experience, the kids might even get a tour of the fire house and the trucks! - Nancy Baldridge, Listing Coordinator
NourishNC provides meals for hungry kids in New Hanover County, and is always in need of donations - often they are looking specifically for cereal, peanut butter, and snack packs. You can find out how to help over the Thanksgiving holiday on their website. Mother Hubbard's Cupboard also feeds those who are food insecure, and can use donations. Hosting a food drive in your neighborhood for non-perishable food items from Mother Hubbard's list is a great way to share with those who have less. - Anne Rose, Marketing Director
Fit Buddies at ACCESS of Wilmington assist young adults and adults with adapted exercise programs. There are opportunities to sign up for the Fit Buddies Volunteer Orientation through December 1. November 12 is the 2022 Allstar Disco Party, a fundraising event for Access, and you can get the info and buy tickets online. This will be a feel-good kickoff to the holiday season. - Janine Pugh, Director of Recruiting and ACCESS board member

Reviews | feedback from our buyers and sellers
"Buying a house is stressful, especially in the recent housing market! KBT Realty was recommended to me and after working with them I understand why. Our realtor, Adam Bullock, and team worked hard for us as we looked for our new home while we were mostly out of town. Adam made himself available to do some showings without us, videoing us in, or working with the sellers agents to get us in at times that worked for us. He stuck with us through several unaccepted offers, and then acted quickly once ours was accepted. KBT Realty took the hard parts on for us; communicating with the sellers, the paperwork, coordinating with other parties to keep everything on track. We've been living in our new house now for a month and a half and we couldn't be happier. Thanks KBT Realty." - Kara Regan, Google Reviews
