Broker Realtor Tom Bartus, with KBT Realty Group, has been a real estate agent since 2006, working to match home buyers with homes. Tom is a New Jersey transplant, having moved to the Wilmington area in 2005. He has been in real estate for a long time; Tom's was previously a senior executive in the food industry. He has extensive corporate leadership experience, and has traveled much of the world.
Why real estate as a second career? Tom says it's fun, and that he likes meeting people. The problem-solving aspect of being a broker appeals to him. People have needs and wants, he says, and he likes matching those against the houses that are available. Interacting with people, negotiating for both sellers and buyers, and making transactions happen are on the list of skills that Tom brings to the table for home buyers and sellers.
Tom specializes in real estate in the southeastern North Carolina area, from Onslow county to Southport, helping homeowners successfully buy and sell homes. He loves to give his clients a "Chamber of Commerce" tour to help familiarize them with neighborhoods, and points out the specific features and unique attributes of each. Finding the neighborhood where prospective home buyers really feel comfortable is key in a successful transaction.
Tom especially enjoys working in Hampstead North Carolina, a growing community with easy access to the beaches and golf courses, and located midpoint between Wilmington and Camp Lejeune, which makes Hampstead a great location for military families.
