What's Up | our favorite restaurants for holiday dining

If you have out-of-town guests during the holidays - or just want to treat yourselves to a special night out - the team at KBT have some excellent suggestions for holiday dining that treat both the palate and the eyes. Feast on the holiday decorations at our favorite spots this year.

We take out of town guests to the Boundary House in Calabash. Their salad with hot bacon dressing and sweet buttered croissants are amazing. There's something for everyone there, from prime rib to seafood. The wood walls with wooden boats in the ceiling and Christmas decor is beautiful. Bonus... right next door is Callahans of Calabash which includes a Christmas shop. The Christmas shop has lots of decorated trees of different themes. - Carey McClure, Broker/Realtor®   

We love strolling along Wilmington's Riverwalk to enjoy the holiday decorations - start with the giant Christmas tree at Market and Water Streets and make your way down along the river to Elijah's for dinner. You can sit outdoors even in December because they put up patio heaters and adjust the sides so that you can enjoy the view of the Cape Fear River without getting chilly! The Blockade Runner celebrates the holiday season with a Christmas cabaret performance by the Opera House Theatre Company and a prix fixe meal. Tables are for two, four, six, eight or ten, and this makes a special night out if you are entertaining for the holidays. - Becky Brown, KBT co-owner

Cape Fear Seafood in Monkey Junction has amazing food and a nice variety to choose from. It is a staple for NYE dinner for my friends and me. Always very good service as well, but make reservations, they fill up fast! - Kristine Roody, Transaction Coordinator

"Coastal elegance" may seem like an oxymoron, especially if your idea of coastal design is an interior that holds up to beach towels and sandy feet. But, with some refinement, you can create a beach-y home that leans more to elegant than casual.

Any coastal decor capitalizes on the use of the organic colors and textures of nature, and the favored blues, sea foam greens, ivory, and beige should also be your go-to colors for an elegant coastal interior. Team Updates | kudos and community

Charity Tuttle joins the KBT team with five years of experience in helping her clients achieve their real estate goals. Charity combines her background in architecture, construction, and relocation management to give buyers and sellers the best possible advantage for home ownership. A native of North Carolina, she is a US Air Force veteran, and a Keller Williams Culture Award winner. She loves area coffee shops, yoga and spin, and the local Jeep community. Charity's apparel brand, Be Mo' Kind, promotes human kindness and gives back to end bullying and youth suicide.

Charity will be at the SUNdays Surf Cafe holiday market on December 17 from 12-3pm as a vendor. Stop to say hello and do some last minute shopping! 




Nancy Baldridge, Listing Coordinator, volunteers at Canines for Service, one of KBT Realty's favored nonprofit organizations. Volunteers help walk dogs, put together mailings, foster dogs over weekends and holidays, and clean kennels.

Canines for Service, where Kirk Pugh, KBT co-owner, and David Barr, real estate agent, serve as board members, trains dogs to assist veterans with service-connected mobility challenges, post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injuries. 

KBT puts its commitment to "Community" into practice, encouraging the team to give back through service and volunteerism.





KBT sponsored the 20 Year Anniversary of the Willie Stargell Celebrity Invitational raising money to fight kidney disease and support patients through improved research and care.
