What's Up | what to do with the kids
My son and his friends love Fort Fisher, for the aquarium and beach. You can drive on if you have 4x drive and the day pass isn't too expensive. Also, Flip N Fly and Jungle Rapids mini golf and water park. Teach your kids how to care for a plant and take them to Shelton Herb Farm in Leland to pick one out. We also visit Carolina Beach State Park, which is great for camping or walking the trails. In Carolina Beach, the Boardwalk has a firework show every Thursday night at 9pm. Pineapple Studios has pottery classes; one year he made a cookie dish for Santa and gave it to his grandparents. It was the cutest thing! - Audrie Sierra, Broker/Realtor®
There's so much do in the area for kids. When ours were growing up, we were regulars at Fort Fisher Aquarium. Add these to your list: Jungle Rapids (for the water park, putt-putt golf, and arcade), Cameron Art Museum with great classes for children, Cape Fear Museum of History, Railroad Museum, Children's Museum, laser tag, Moores Creek National Battlefield, Brunswick Nature Park, Mike's Farm, fishing off the piers in Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach, and bowling. For kids with disabilities, Miracle League is a godsend. - Janine Pugh, Director of Recruiting
Kayaking at Shark Tooth Island and looking for sharks teeth of course! - Nancy Schappell, Broker/Realtor®
Kids - and BIG kids, too - love taking the ferry from Fort Fisher to Southport. Load the kids and the car onto the ferry and relax for the 35 minutes ride. The ride is inexpensive, and it is first-come-first-serve, so check the schedule and be there to be in the line when the ferry comes in to load. When you get to Southport, burgers at Blue Cow Grille, hot dogs at Trolly Stop, and ice cream at Spike's Dairy Bar are super kid-friendly and won't break the bank. I have to also get SkyWatch Bird Rescue a shoutout because kids love visiting the exotic rescues, including the emu, and their educational programs are really interesting. - Anne Rose, Director of Marketing

Tips from Real Estate Experts | Buying Waterfront Real Estate
Buyers looking at waterfront property are often motivated by the convenience and caché of owning private, direct access to water. In southeastern coastal North Carolina, this could be property with frontage on the Cape Fear River, Intracoastal Waterway, or the Atlantic Ocean.
Buyers considering purchasing a home on the water need to consider how they intend to enjoy their new waterfront home.
If the view is your primary motivation for living on the water, the direction that the home faces is important. An east-facing home will provide views of the sunrise, and over the Atlantic Ocean, those early morning vistas can be spectacular. For sunsets, west-facing windows and decks will give the optimal perch to enjoy the waning day. Homes that face south often have light all day, and can provide a view of both sunrise and sunset.

Reviews | feedback from our buyers and sellers
"I recently purchased a property in Southport with Audrie Sierra. It was very enjoyable working with her and her team. Audrie has a very engaging personality. She did a superb job answering all of my questions regarding the local real estate market. As a veteran, I greatly appreciated her attention to detail when responding to all of my questions throughout the buying process. The guidance and assistance she provided was invaluable to me. What really made this purchase truly exceptional is that I never had to leave my home in Minnesota. All of the details were flawlessly handled by Audrie, Transaction Coordinator Krystal Baird, and the KBT Realty Group in a timely manner. I highly recommended anyone looking to buy property or sell their property to contact Audrie Sierra. She exemplifies the model of a truly professional real estate agent. I am looking forward to working with her again." - Wendy Buffington, Google Reviews
