Christmas Tree Recycling Information
City of Wilmington solid waste customers should put their un-decorated trees curbside for recycling on their normal service day. Drop off locations for real trees open on December 26 - January 31, at Monkey Junction Home Depot, Eastwood Road Home Depot, and the NHC landfill (5210 US Highway 421 North).
Brunswick County Landfill accepts Christmas trees for recycling for county residents at no charge through January 30.
In Pender County, the Rocky Point and Hampstead Convenience Centers will accept trees through January 16. Get hours and locations here.
The North Carolina Division of Coastal Management provides guidance to property owners on using Christmas trees for dune restoration and sand fencing. The angle of tree placement, distance from the dunes, and other restrictions apply. Get information online.
